Lok Sabha Election 2024: Defence Minister and BJP veteran Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Assam on March 14, with a primary agenda of finalizing the candidate for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat. During his visit, he will chair a crucial meeting involving the BJP and its alliance partners AGP and UPPL.
Together, they have decided to establish an Election Management Committee to ensure the victory of their candidate. Assam cabinet minister Ranjeet Kumar Das revealed this development, emphasizing the collaborative effort among the BJP, AGP, and UPPL.
Each constituency will have its own Election Management Committee, with the process set to be completed by March 13. Rajnath Singh’s itinerary includes discussions with leaders from all three parties and providing necessary guidance.
UPPL president Pramod Boro highlighted the formation of a committee under the chairmanship of former MLA Hemendra Nath Brahma to oversee election management in all nine LACs under the Kokrajhar LS.
With the BJP allocating three seats to its allies AGP and UPPL, the focus now shifts to the Kokrajhar parliamentary seat, where UPPL will field its candidate.
